WEEK COMMENCING 23 MARCH 2015
This week we have been discussing the Easter Story and the topic of New Life.
The children have been getting creative and designing wonderful Easter bonnets and posters for the whole school competition.
With the help of Mr Rees, the pupils of both Foundation classes have been planting potatoes and shallots within the Foundation Stage Vegetable Garden.
During numeracy our main focus has been on dividing by 2 (sharing/halving) and revisiting symmetry and repetitive pattern.
WEEK COMMENCING 16 March 2015
This week we have been reading the story of The Hungry Caterpillar and learning about life cycles - caterpillar to butterfly, tadpole to frog, egg to chicken.
We have been extremely fortunate and were able to visit one of our MTA's brood of hens and collect their eggs.
Week Commencing 9 March 2015
This week in Foundation our topic has been Jack & The Beanstalk.
Literacy - We have been using describing words to write some super sentences relating to the story.
Children have been learning the story and retelling the tale in their own words.
Phonics - Children have been using their phonic knowledge to find digraphs within words associated to the story - Jack, Harp, Chicken etc.
Numeracy - The focus has been 'adding on' and combining together.
Week Commencing 23 Feb 2015.
This week we have continued with the Chinese New Year theme. We have created and designed our own role play Chinese Take Away, visited the Golden Wok tried different foods and experienced a real Take Away environment.
Numeracy - we have been investigating 3D Shapes such as cone, spheres and cuboids.
Literacy - finding digraphs within words
