Pine - Year 2

Paignton Zoo Trip

We had a great time at Paignton Zoo! We got to see lots of animals and had a lesson about habitats. It was a very windy day so some of the animals had to stay inside. We enjoyed seeing the monkeys, an elephant and giraffes! What an amazing but tiring day!

Year 2 present Florence Nightingale

What a performance Pine! You were amazing at singing and acting. Everyone thought you were fantastic!

Pine and Konflux Theatre present 'Florence Nightingale'!

Thank you so much to Rosie from Konflux for coming in to help put on a quick production about Florence Nightingale. We learnt lots of facts but also learnt a whole play in under 3 hours! Well done Pine - you are brilliant actors and can not wait for our production which is coming soon.....

Can I explain a process?

We are looking at animals and humans in Science and we learnt about the digestive system. We used drama to re-enact the process. As you can see, we had fun pretending to be a piece of food!

Our digestive system!

Our new topic - Florence Nightingale

We have started to learn all about Florence Nightingale. As you can see, we had lots of fun using bandages to wrap up our 'injured soldiers'! We will be learning lots more about Florence and will start to practise our play about her life!

Can I create an effective bridge for a toy car?

In Science, we looked at using a type of paper to create a bridge. We had to choose from card, paper or a shiny card. We thought that the strongest would be card. During the lesson, we had lots of fun working with our partner and trying to work out the best way to support the car.

Our very cold Science Walk!

For our topic 'everyday materials' we went out to the local area to be material detectives! We really enjoyed ourselves and found lots of materials being used even though we were very cold! frown

Finding habitats in the school grounds

For our Science topic 'living things and their habitats' we looked around the school grounds to find some creatures in their 'micro-habitats'. We observed them very carefully making sure we didn't disturbed the creatures.
