Curriculum Overview - Spring Term - First Half

Spring Term Science   We have started to look at materials and the properties of common materials in Science. We have found objects made of metal, plastic, glass, wood (and paper) and fabric. We learned a new word - rigid - as the opposite of bendy. Please help your children at home identify the material objects are made from, and talk about their properties - hard, soft, smooth, rough, bendy, rigid, waterproof, absorbent, transparent (or see through) and so on. Thank you.

Sorting Materials - we have been thinking about what material things are made of.

Toby's Christmas Drum - our Year 1 and Reception Nativity Play - was filmed this morning by the local ITV news team for inclusion in the local news bulletin one day this week. If we have enough warning from them we will let you know by text which day it is being broadcast, but they may make a last minute decision to include it and won't be able to tell us - so keep a look out on the local evening ITV news in case.  We were very proud of all the children while they performed today - well done! The children are looking forward to seeing Oak class parents there on Thursday at 2pm.

We were very excited to finally be performing our Nativity play!
